OUR STORY

Owned by husband and wife team, Rhys and Gwen, Cribyn Coffee Company was founded during lockdown in 2021

Rhys first got involved in coffee in the late 1990’s whilst working for Marks and Spencer, and his love of coffee developed further whilst working for many years for Starbucks across the UK, Middle East and Africa. On a visit to Rwanda he saw first hand the importance of building great relationships with coffee farmers to ensure they were properly rewarded for the hard work they put in to growing the coffee in the first place.

Gwen loves tasting new coffees and selecting which ones make the grade, and when not doing this she can be found working as a Vet in Brecon.

Cribyn Coffee Company’s roastery is located in a restored 300 year old Coach House just outside Brecon in the heart of the beautiful Brecon Beacons in Wales. The company is named after “Cribyn” one of the highest peaks in the Beacons. It is a truly stunning part of the world to live and work in.

We live here with our 3 children, a small flock of Southdown Sheep and assorted other animals!

We roast using a state of the art Probat roaster, the only one of its kind in the UK (as of October 2021) which ensures consistent roasting time after time.

We only use 100% Arabica beans in all our coffees, and even then only the highest quality will be selected.

Coffee can be the backdrop to so many moments or adventures in your day, from that first caffeine hit to kick start your morning, to catching up with friends, or taking one out to enjoy on a good walk with the dog, however you enjoy your coffee, or whoever you enjoy it with, we hope you do it with a cup of Cribyn.
